Sales Director

We are looking to add to our dynamic sales team and actively looking for highly motivated sales people with a strong track record in acquisition sales and achieving $1MM+ annual quota’s! If you are a strong new business development professional who wants to be part of an exciting ed tech company, are passionate about making a difference in Higher Education, and can sell our SaaS Student Success Platform, Analytics, and Support Services—then we should talk! Our Sales Directors work in well-defined sales territories, focused on winning new universities and colleges in the proprietary, public, private, CBL, and online markets, to continue to grow our customer base. Sales Directors will work in-territory and report to our National Sales Director.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of comparable selling experience with SaaS-based, software applications or higher ed technology solutions
  • track-record of developing winning account plans, use of consultative and solution-selling sales disciplines, familiarity with industry standard sales CRMs, and exceeding $1MM+ verifiable annual sales quota
  • experience in building high-trust executive decision-maker relationships, quickly developing opportunities into sales wins, by gaining client’s commitment to act based on value created / return on investment
  • demonstrated ability to prospect and sell effectively both virtually and face-to-face
  • ability to travel up to 50% of time
  • passion to make a difference particularly with the higher education market
  • experience (or familiarity) with post-secondary schools and college leadership, particularly in student services, academic advising, enrollment, or education is a plus
  • experience (or familiarity) with K12 schools is also a plus

Ruby on Rails Developer 

Nuro Retention is a cross-campus solution that supports the initiatives and responsibilities of all student success stakeholders. Our platform aggregates multi-system data to streamline workflow associated with the early identification and advising of at-risk students, and provides intervention, remediation, and collaboration tools to help keep students on path from help guide students on the path from admittance to graduation.

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for supporting the current development workflow. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, connecting with our satellite products and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.


– Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
– Integration of data storage solutions Redis, Postgres and Neo4J
– Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
– Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
– Help maintain code quality, organization and automation
– Weekly meeting on site (Miami Beach, FL),
– Fully available online during the day.

Skills & Qualifications

– Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as:
RSpec, Minitest, Cucumber, Selenium
– Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
– Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
– Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies and SCRUM
– Good understanding of server-side templating languages such as HAML
– Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as Sass and Less
– Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
– Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, RESTful and DRY
– A knack for writing clean, readable and tested Ruby code
– Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
– Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
– Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
– Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
– Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git, GitFlow
– Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bundler, Rake,etc
– Familiarity with continuous integration
– Experience with:Twilio, Pusher, Pubnub, SendGrid, Mandrill, OAuth & Bootstrap is a plus
